Do I need a Covid test before flying to Cambodia?
In the most recent royal government specifications, you do not need a pre-flight PCR test to travel to Cambodia and you will not need to do a test upon arrival. You may still need a test in order to travel through any countries you may transfer through before arriving in Cambodia, as well as for the airlines you are travelling with.
What Covid documents do I need to show when arriving in Cambodia?
You will need to do the following at immigration when arriving in Cambodia:
Present official certified evidence of your vaccination record which show you have completed two doses of vaccination. Please note, no apps for vaccination are accepted so you must provide paper/physical versions of your vaccination certificates. We recommend that you make paper copies of these in colour before arriving (two of each), along with your original vaccination documents. Your vaccination must not have been administered less than 14 days before your departure (as per current rules).
Do I need Covid-19 health insurance to enter Cambodia?
No, you do not need Covid-19 health insurance to enter Cambodia, however, should you test positive upon arrival you may have to quarantine which will be charged to you (including hospital and or hotel stay), which can be very expense for the 7-14 days you will need to quarantine (providing you test negative multiple times afterwards, in order to be released). As a result, we recommend health insurance which covers Covid.
Nextstep works closely with a number of health insurance providers, contact us if you would like to know more about the best Cambodian health insurance providers.
What are the quarantine measures for unvaccinated travelers visiting Cambodia?
Unvaccinated travellers (including those who are partially vaccinated) did have to undergo quarantine for at least 7 days on arrival in a government-approved hotel, with family members who travelled together being allowed quarantine together in the same location. This saw costs incurred of at least 2,000 USD per person. This is now no longer the case, but we have kept this information in this post to warn people about the potential requirements which could be put back in place in the case of a resurgence of COVID-19. At the moment, no vaccination or test is required at immigration.

Can I apply for a vaccination certificate at a Cambodian Embassy in my country?
You do not need to have a Cambodian vaccination certification to enter Cambodia. Ceritifcations are valid globally and the one you recieved in your country of origin will be valid at customs in Cambodia. Make sure that your vaccination is one of the types recognised by the Cambodian government. This includes BioNTech Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovax and some others.
You can also get visas from Cambodian embassies around the world in advance of your arrival, but they will need supporting documents that are otherwise not required for those granted on arrival.
If you opt for this route, you need to check the specific requirements for the Cambodian Embassy within the country you will be applying from. This is usually:
A passport (valid for at least 6 months prior to your departure),
2×2 passport photos
Evidence of health insurance coverage (now no longer needed post-covid)
A stamped letter of invitation from a registered Cambodian business or school.
Finally, you can also get a T-visa (tourist) online. This is usually around $30 plus a $6 processing fee, with a 3-day processing time.
A T-visa is only valid for 90 days after applying, and 30 days once you land in Cambodia.
