Nextstep isn’t a global agency with a hundred desks and a logo on a tower. We’re a human-first, technology-backed service, streamlined to flex with market demand.
Being lean is a deliberate choice. It keeps us close to our work and clientele, allowing us to meet the nuances of each market whilst realising our vision sustainably. As the brand develops, our infrastructure will scale with us.
Having spent ten years in the UK construction industry and numerous attempts to find work abroad, I knew first-hand that classic recruitment agencies weren’t geared for global connectivity.
For many like myself, the nine-to-five grind had become a lackluster experience, but the more meaningful, exciting opportunities I was after were simply too obscure and fragmented for me to reach from the outside.
Intent on changing the status quo, I chose to leverage the progressive, friendly and fast-moving nature of Cambodia’s private sector to develop my idea.
Learning the market from the ground up, through missteps and lucky breaks alike, I continue to build an end-to-end channel attuned to what moving abroad really takes — not just finding secure work, but making the move safely.
Founder, Nextstep
We didn’t end up in Cambodia by accident. It’s exactly the kind of open, forward-leaning economy where a modern, borderless career can take root — and building from here was the whole point.
Cambodia is one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies — young, dollarised and outward-looking. It has spent the last decade opening up to the world, and it hasn’t stopped.
Liberal foreign-ownership rules sit alongside one of the region’s more welcoming visa regimes. Investment and talent both move freely here — few markets make arriving this easy.
Progressive emerging economies are where the new age of career development is being written. The best opportunities are surfacing in markets the rest of the world hasn’t caught up with yet.
